Dearly Beloved in Christ & Dear St. Thomas Family,
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
As we begin another month, my heart is filled with thanks-
giving to God for His abundant blessings upon our parish family. We praise
Him for leading us through a wonderful Vacation Bible School and Elders
Bible School. It was a joy to see children, teachers, volunteers, and our senior
members learning God’s Word together. I sincerely thank everyone who
prayed, planned, served, and participated in making these ministries a great
blessing.
We also thank God for the Youth Retreat held at Sandy Cove, Maryland. It
was a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and spiritual renewal. I pray
that our young people will continue to grow in their faith and become faithful
witnesses of Christ wherever they are.
August will be another exciting month in the life of our church. Our Junior and
Senior Conference will be held from August 6–9, followed by the Diocese
Yuvajana Sakhyam Conference from August 14–16. Let us uphold all the par-
ticipants and leaders in our prayers.
Our parish family will also gather for our annual Picnic on August 15 at Saxon
Woods Park. I encourage everyone to join this time of fellowship and together-
ness. Later in the month, we will travel to Lancaster on August 27 to watch the
inspiring production of Joshua. May these occasions strengthen our fellowship
and faith.
As India celebrates its Independence Day this month, let us thank God for our
beloved homeland and continue to pray for its peace, unity, and progress. We
also remember that Mission Sunday will be observed on August 2, reminding
us of Christ’s call to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. On August 16, we will
observe Reformation Sunday, giving thanks for God’s renewing work in His
Church and recommitting ourselves to His Word.
On a personal note, I thank God for His faithfulness throughout the past 12
years of ordained ministry. Every step has been guided by His grace, and I
remain grateful for the privilege of serving His people. Thank you for your
prayers, encouragement, and love. I humbly ask you to continue praying for
me and my family as we seek to serve the Lord faithfully.
Finally, our world continues to face conflict, violence, and uncertainty. As
followers of Jesus Christ, let us be people who pray for peace, work for recon-
ciliation, and become instruments of God’s love. May the Prince of Peace rule
in our hearts, our families, our church, and among all nations.
May the Lord bless you and your families with His grace, strength, and peace
throughout this month.

Youth Chaplain’s Corner
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, one true God. Amen.
Dearly Beloved,
In Luke 10:1–12, Jesus sends seventy disciples
ahead of Him into the towns and villages He
was preparing to visit. Their mission was simple
but important: to prepare the way for Christ
and to proclaim that the Kingdom of God had
come near.
What stands out in this passage is that Jesus does not send only the
twelve disciples. He calls seventy others and sends them out in pairs.
This reminds us that Christian mission is not limited to clergy, leaders,
or a select group of people. It is the shared responsibility of the whole
Church. Each of us has a place in God’s work, and each of us is called to
make the love of Christ visible through our words, actions, and service.
Jesus tells them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
The need around us remains great. There are people who are lonely,
discouraged, burdened, and searching for hope. There are young people
who need encouragement, families who need prayer, and communities
that need to experience the compassion of Christ. The harvest is plenti-
ful, and God continues to call willing hearts to participate in His mis-
sion.
At the same time, Jesus says, “I am sending you out like lambs among
wolves.” He does not promise that the mission will always be easy or
comfortable. The disciples may face rejection, hostility, and disappoint-
ment. Yet they are not sent with force, anger, or worldly power. They
are sent as lambs—with humility, gentleness, courage, and complete
dependence upon God.
This is the spirit in which the Church must continue its mission. We are
not called to respond to hostility with hostility or to overcome others
through power. We are called to remain faithful, compassionate, and
courageous, trusting that the Good Shepherd is always with us.
God willing, in the holiday months, parishes will once again take part in
mission outreach projects. I sincerely hope that our young adults,
teens, and children will lead these projects, as they have an abundance
of talents and the best of intentions. We must

remember these opportunities are more
than programs or activities. They allow us to serve together, grow in
faith, and become instruments of God’s love in the lives of others.
As we prepare, may we ask ourselves: Are we willing to take part in
God’s mission? Are we ready to serve even when it requires sacrifice?
Are we willing to trust God when we feel unprepared or uncertain?
May the Lord give us willing hearts, compassionate hands, and the
courage to go wherever He sends us.

Condolences:
Mr. Mathew T John, Thekkanal Punnavely, brother-in-law of our members Mrs. Santhamma
George and Mrs. Saramma Jose, was called to eternal rest on July 1st, at the age of 85. Funeral
service was held on July 6th in New York.
Mrs. Sosamma Oommen, grand mother of our Vicar, Rev. Jubin Varghese was called to eternal
rest on July 24 in Kerala at the age of 98. Funeral services were held on July 29th in Kerala.
Mrs. Alphonsa Francis, sister-in-law of our member Mrs. Annakutty Joseph was called to eternal
rest on July 24 in Kerala at the age of 66. Funeral services were held in Kerala.
Mrs. Rachel Thomas, sister of our member Mrs. Annamma Thannickal was called to eternal rest
on July 31st at the age of 94 in Kerala.
On Behalf of the parish, I express our sincere condolences. May the everlasting Grace and Peace of
our Lord Jesus Christ bring comfort to the bereaving families during this difficult time.
