Dearly beloved in Christ,
From the first signs of Spring to the start of Daylight Saving Time,
March is a month full of new beginnings. The month of March is
blessed with the observance of Great Lent, this is the time for an in-
trospection. I pray that it will be an oppor-
tunity for us to become more humble and
identify with the sufferings of Christ. I
again request to you to open your houses
for Lenten prayer. It will be a great bless-
ing to our community.
March 7th is observed as World Women's
Day of Prayer. Through this, they encour-
age us to take up the burdens of others, to
sympathize with the problems of other
countries and cultures, and pray with
them. March first Sunday, we meditate
upon the theme "Jesus who transforms everything ." Lent should be
a beautiful occasion for us to undergo a transformation, as the water
is transformed into wine .Second Sunday, we meditate upon the
theme "Jesus Christ who holds together the neglected" Here, we see
Jesus Christ, holds the negated through giving spiritual and physical
deliverance to the people. The observance of Lent should be
strengthen us to do the same. Third Sunday we meditate upon the
theme "Jesus Christ who gives healing and Redemption from sin".
Jesus teaches that The ultimate healing is redemption from sin.
Fourth sunday we meditate upon "Jesus Christ who makes Redemp-
tion possible for everyone". March 26th, we observe Mid- lent.
Fifth Sunday we meditate upon "Jesus Christ who grants the fullness
of humanity". We have a good practice of submitting an amount to
GSF undesignated in Lenten period, But nowadays it is very diffi-
cult to transfer money from our church account to India. But we
have many applications and if you are interested I will give the de-
tails and you can send them directly to the deserving ones. I request
your generous participation for the same. May Lord bless us all.

Youth Chaplain’s Message
Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - One True God! Amen!
Beloved family,
As we step into the Great Fast, we are invited to embrace a season of
reconciliation, renewal, and profound reflection. The commencement
of Great Lent is marked by the liturgy of Shubkonoa sacred gath-
ering where we set aside our burdens and open our hearts to divine
peace. In this holy service, our prayers call us to quiet our egos,
cleanse our souls, and deepen the bonds within our community.
Drawing on the harmonious teachings of Scripture and the wisdom
of our early Church Fathers, we find that genuine renewal begins
with the transformation of the heart. As the psalmist pleads, “Create
in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within
me” (Psalm 51:10), so also St. John Chrysostom reminds us that
“Fasting is the medicine of the soul.” Together, these voices guide us
away from mere outward practices, inviting us into a deeper journey
of introspection and humilityone that reshapes our inner lives and
reinforces our relationships with others.
Reimagining the story of the wedding at Cana, we encounter a narra-
tive of transformation and abundance. Just as water is miraculously
transformed into wine, our humble acts of kindness and reconcilia-
tion have the power to elevate the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Each gesture of humility ignites hope and nurtures a more compas-
sionate community.
May this Lent be a time of sincere reflection, soulful rejuvenation,
and steadfast unitya journey where our renewed spirits light the
path to a kinder, more loving world. With heartfelt prayers and bless-
ings for a transformative and meaningful Lenten season, God be with
you all.

ful occasions for us to deepen our faith and friendships. If you need fur-
ther information about dates, times, or activities, please reach out to

Let us make the most of these gatherings and encourage one another to
grow in faith and unity.
College Visits Let’s Fellowship in Christ!
Students, we have an exciting opportunity for you to connect and support each
other on campus. Your Youth Chaplain looks forward to visiting colleges for
fellowship, prayer, and encouragement. Whether you need a break from stud-
ies or a boost in your spiritual walk, we are here for you. Please keep an eye
on the NERYF Instagram for exact dates and details regarding these visits.
Remember the reassuring words of Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three
gather in my name, there am I with them.”
May the spirit of the Great Fast draw us closer to one another and to Christ. As
we journey together, let us remember that our humble gesturesacts of com-
passion, service, and prayerare the channels through which Christ’s love
flows into the world. Wishing you all a blessed and meaningful Lenten season
filled with renewal, reflection, and a profound sense of community.
In Christ’s love,
JVarghese Achen

Lent A time for Prayer, Fasting and Giving
Lent is a time for us to come closer to God, meditate upon and under-
stand the sacrifice of Jesus to save us from sin. Three main focuses
during Lent are prayer, fasting and giving.
Prayer during Lent focuses on our need for God’s forgiveness. It’s
also about repenting and receiving God’s mercy and love.
Fasting is giving up something most important to us . Why we have
to avoid meat or fish during lent? Because non -vegetarian food is
regular part of our diet and giving up that is important to us is an inte-
gral part of lent observance. Also it shows a modest life style.
Giving money or doing something good for others is a way to respond
to God’s Grace, generosity and love. In our church we collect money
during the lent period to support the needy. During the passion week,
we collect Upekshana Varam (Self Denial). It is the money we saved
by fasting and by avoiding expensive food or other items.
