Dear Parishioners,
I greet you all in the name of our Lord and savior
Jesus Christ. Let's thank God for the month of full swing
of spring and it's blessings. The pastel colors of early
spring have turned bright, beautifying nature and asking us
to transform our spiritual life into a vibrant spring season.
Let me once again commend you for your prayerful partic-
ipation in the 50 days of Lenten services, and a special
thank you to all the homes that opened for prayer.
May 1st celebrate international Labor Day, officially it rec-
ognizes the contributions workers make in building our nation's economy. The day
also recognizes the significance of work itself in creating a productive and healthy soci-
ety. For believers in Jesus Christ, this day especially honors the human efforts of indi-
viduals as persons uniquely created in the image of God.
May 1th Sunday we observe as 'Bhoo-bhavanadanam' . Housing is one of the
basic human needs. First Sunday we are meditating on Jesus Christ who restores to the
rightful place. May 2nd Sunday we meditate on The commissioning of The Risen
Lord: Shepherding of the people of God. Jesus tenderly calls us to shepherd his peo-
ple. The 3rd Sunday we meditating on Jesus Christ, the co- travelers. As a co-traveler,
He listens, teaches, and reveals Himself through Scripture and the breaking of bread.
This encounter reminds us that Christ journeys with us in our doubts, questions, and
hopes. 4th Sunday we observe as Sacred Music Sunday. Let us praise God for the role
Christian songs play in building and strengthening our faith, and I appreciate our choir
members and their ministry. May 29th we observe as Ascension of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
The Ascension of Our Lord affirms the certainty of our eternal home by showing that
Jesus returned to the Father, preparing a place for us in heaven. It assures believers
that just as Christ ascended, we too are destined for eternal life with Him. His depar-
ture was not an end but a promise of our future glory and union with God.
Let me appreciate your participation in all the needs of the parish and I would like
to remind you to confirm your generous participation in charity works, Subscription
and Diocesan Day Collection. All organizations and area prayer groups are reminded
to schedule in person meetings during the spring and summer seasons. It is pleasure to
inform God willing, we will have Episcopal Visit (Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos
Episcopa) on this May 25th Sunday. First Holy Communion also will be conducted.
Those who are 13 years old and older and would like to receive First Communion,
please let me know as soon as possible (before Saturday, May 3rd). There will be 4 in
person classes will be conducted, those who are attending all classes will be allowed to
receive Holy Communion. I pray and wish that the coming days will be a blessing to
all of us. God bless us all.
With Prayer

Youth Chaplains Corner
Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - One
true God! Amen!
Christ is Risen! Indeed he is Risen!
Beloved in Christ,
As May awakens around us, we find the days stretching
longer and the soft warmth of Spring brushing against
the lingering cool crisp air. Trees blossom along our streets and highways, and the
earth, after a long winters rest, is bursting with fresh colour and life. The skies
stretch wide with light, and the earth, wrapped in its gentle glow, draws our eyes
to a deeper reality the radiance of Christ, the true Light, who tenderly illumi-
nates even the hidden places of our hearts, calls us into renewal and life with Him.
Beloved, in the quiet hush of creation, we can hear the Spirit’s whisper: behold,
the season of renewal has come, and hope stands before you!
In these beautiful days, the Church is reminded of an even greater awakening:
Heaven has been opened to us all. Through the Feast of the Ascension, which we
celebrate this month, we are called to live in that hope and joy!
When Jesus ascended into Heaven, the disciples were not left grieving or afraid.
Rather, “…they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: and
they were continually in the temple blessing God.” Even though Christ has phys-
ically departed from their sight, His promise remained with them the promise of
His Spirit, His presence, and the sure hope of His return.
Ascension calls us to ask deeper questions: Where is our joy rooted? Is it an-
chored in things that will surely fade away? Or is it in Him who reigns on high?
Through this feast, we are reminded that our true home is not here, but with Him
who us given us everything.
As we walk through these brightening days of May, may our lives reflect the hope
that fills the heavens. Let us live with eyes that lift towards the heavens and hearts
that have been firmly grounded in Christ. May our hands and feet be his and con-
tinue his Mission. May we bless God with our lives, just as the apostles, and live
with a joy that the world cannot take away.
May Christ peace be with us all! God Bless us,
Prayerfully,
J Varghese Achen

gatherings and encourage one another to grow in faith and unity.
Bible Study: The next MONTHLY Bible Study will be at 7:30pm on May 21, 2025, at the
Youth Chaplain’s Parsonage. We are deeply grateful to our very own seminarian, Vineet
Vinod (BD II), who, during his recent visit home, graciously led a meaningful Bible Study
for our youth on the theme "The Cost of Holding On," based on St. Matthew 19:1628. His
thoughtful leadership and heartfelt reflections challenged and encouraged all who attended.
We thank God for the time he spent with us and continue to uphold him in prayer as he
pursues his seminary studies.
NERYF Spring One Day Retreat 2025: We give thanks to God for the blessing of
the Spring One Day Retreat, held on Holy Saturday at Bethany Mar Thoma Church. Over
200 youth from across New York came together for a powerful day of worship, fellowship,
and spiritual renewal. We are especially grateful to Dr. Shaun Rajan (St. Andrew’s MTC) and
Jojin Mathew (Long Island MTC) for leading us with inspiring messages that challenged and
encouraged us to be the salt and light of the world .
A heartfelt thanks to Bethany Mar Thoma Church Family, and also to all the youth, volun-
teers, and leaders who made this retreat a meaningful and memorable experience. I also take
this opportunity to sincerely thank the many parents across our parishes who generously
carpooled, arranged rides, and made sure their children and others could attend. Sup-
port like this is a vital part of our Youth Fellowship success and it is a testimony to the
strength of our community that we all have a role. May the spirit of renewal we experienced
continue to guide us as we grow in faith together.
College Visits: Spring 2025 Semester Wrap-Up: As we close out our college visits for this
semester, I give thanks to God for the wonderful opportunities to meet, pray, and spend
time with many of our students across different colleges in New York and Connecticut. I am
especially grateful to all the youth who took the time and made every arrangement to make
these gatherings possible. A special word of thanks to Mr. Angel Abraham of Bethany MTC,
who graciously opened his college home to host the Easter Holy Qurbana in Buffalo a
beautiful moment of worship and fellowship. The efforts, hospitality, and willingness of our
students to create space for prayer and community have been a true blessing and a living
testimony to their love for God and the Church. As the semester winds down, please know
that you remain in our prayers. May God continue to guide your steps, strengthen your faith,
and bless you in all your studies and endeavors. We look forward to resuming our college
visits in Fall 2025!
