Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The month of February is truly blessed by our Church's Maramon Convention.
I pray that God will bless us in these days to participate in the Convention
through online media and listen to the Word of God and be blessed. Let me
thank the convenor Mr.Josen Joseph and all who participated and worked hard
for the success of our Parish day. The presence of our public leaders really
honored our Parish. Let's plan our ministry as our Bishop reminded " the
church should stands for it's non-members ". As we enter into a new financial
year, I request all remaining organization to prepare for the general body.
Let's thank God for the time of Grat Lent. We will begin our valiyanombu-
great lent from February 11th, 2024. It is one of the most important Lents in
our Church.
I humbly request you all that, kindly participate in this blessed service. Please
try to arrange the Sandhya Namaskaram (Lenten prayers) at our homes (6:30
pm), as this would be a great witness to our young and future generations. The
journey through Lent into Easter is a journey with Jesus. We are baptized into
his life, self- giving, and death; then, we rise in hope to life transformed. This
Lent, communities are invited to walk with Jesus in his Way of Love and into
the experience of transformed life. Together, we will reflect anew on the loving
actions of God as recounted in the Easter Vigil readings. Together, we will
walk through the depths of salvation history into the fullness of redemption.
The first Sunday we meditate upon Jesus Christ who heals and observers as
Medical Mission Sunday. Let's pray for all who related to medical work. We all
are called to partake in the healing ministry with Christ. Second Sunday, at the
beginning of Lent we meditate upon Jesus Christ who transform. May Lord
help us to make the time of Lent to transform ourselves according to the will of
God. The third week we meditate upon compassionate touch of Jesus Christ
that sanctifies. God wants us always be sanctified. It is Gods' grace and our re-
lationship with God that makes us to sanctification. Fourth Sunday we meditate
upon Jesus Christ who leads to holistic healing. A man cannot be perfected
without forgiveness from God. We will have our Youth
fellowship meeting every 4th Saturday evening, I re-
quest all the members to participate and all the parents
are requested to encourage our children to take part in
the fellowship. May Lord keep us all in his mighty
hands.

Youth Chaplain’s Message
Dearly beloved in Christ,
As we embark the second month of this year, let us thank God for
His goodness. His goodness is reflected as we know Him as the greatest
physician. February 4th we are meditating on the theme in our lectionary as
Medical Mission Sunday, and we remember Jesus Christ who
heals. Christs healing love is understood when we see His earthly ministry
of His availability for everyone, especially the least and the last. It calls for
us to really look unto ourselves as a Church and see if our praxis of worship
a place for healing? Another thing we need to reflect on is if we are as a
Church a place for the broken or an organization for status. Christ is all
powerful, but He focused on bringing the least and the last to the center
from the margins. As we commemorate Medical Mission Sunday let us also
be thankful for those in the medical ministry in this world, our community,
and families. Let us continue to pray for them so that their lives can point to
the healing love of God.
This month also embarks a great journey for the faith communi-
ty. We together will experience the Great Lent season. Let us thank God
for the opportunity that is used to retrospect and introspect our lives and see
which direction our lifes journey is headed. That is more personal when we
realize Christ coming to this world and journeying to the way to the cross
for each one of us. May the fifty-day lent journey be a blessing so that our
lives can also bless His name.
NERYF will have the Winter Retreat from February 16-18 at the
Montrose Bible Conference in Montrose Pennsylvania. I plead to our
youths to come and plead to the parents to send our children for the re-
treat. Main speaker will be Rev. Jaisen A. Thomas, Vicar- Redeemer Mar
Thoma Church and New Jersey Youth Chaplain. We will have a talk by
Rev. Dr. Pramod Zachariah, Vicar of the Epiphany Mar Thoma Church and
a devotion led by Mr. Justin Babu from St. Johns Mar Thoma Church. We
will have Basketball tournaments throughout the confer-
ence and great time of fellowship and recreation. Our
Theme is UNIQUE based on Isaiah 64:8. Registration is
open on the NERYFMTC Instagram, also along with the
Youth fellowship secretaries.

It is saddened to inform you that Mr. Sam George, cousin of our member Mr. Ullas P
Thannickal, (residing at 231 North Little Tor Road, New City, NY 10956) went to be
with the Lord on early morning today, January 2nd, 2024 in Long Island, NY at the age
of 49 due to cardiac arrest.
Funeral services were held on Saturday January 13th at New Testament Church, Ami-
tyville, NY.
I am saddened to inform you that Mr. John V. Joseph, member of Mar Thoma Congre-
gation, Kingston, Canada brother of our member Mr. Raju V. Joseph (residing at 9
Spray Court, Nanuet, NY 10954) and Rev. Joseph Chacko went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, in Canada at the age of 74.
Funeral services were held on Saturday January 27th at Kingston Mar Thoma Congrega-
tion, Kingston, Canada.
I am saddened to inform you that Mr. Thomas Mathai, member of St. Marys Malankara
Orthodox Church, Farmers Branch, TX, brother in law of our member Mrs. Accamama
Verghese (residing at 68 Linn Ave, Yonkers, NY 10705) went to be with the Lord this
afternoon, January 19, 2024, in Dallas, TX at the age of 82.
Funeral services were held on Saturday January 27th in St. Marys Orthodox Valiyapal-
ly, Dallas, TX.
I am saddened to inform you that Mr. Scaria Mathulla, member of St. Thomas Malanka-
ra Orthodox Church, Yonkers, NY, father of our member Dr. Cible Mathulla w/o Mr.
Mathew J. Parayil (residing at 232 Carol Ave, Pelham, NY 10803) went to be with the
Lord on Saturday, January 20 2024, in Qatar flight at the age of 78.
Funeral services were held on Saturday January 27th in St. Marys Syro–Malankara
Catholic Church, Yonkers, NY 10701.
I am saddened to inform you that Mr. K.M. Chacko, member of The Epiphany Mar Tho-
ma Church, NY, uncle of our member Mr. Abraham George,(residing at 23 Etville Ave,
Yonkers, NY 10703), went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20 2024, in
Queens, New York at the age of 97.
Funeral services were held on Monday January 29th at Epiphany Mar Thoma Church,
Ozone Park, NY.
I am saddened to inform you that Mrs. Susan Daniel, member of Vettiyar Sehion Mar
Thoma Church, sister of our members Mrs. Mariamma Thomas(Santhamma),Mr.
Mathew David and Mr. Babu David went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24
2024, in Parumala Hospital, Kerala, at the age of 69.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday January 31st at Sehion Mar Thoma Church,
Vettiyar, Kerala.
Kindly uphold the bereaved families in your prayers.

the bereaving families and pray that God give them sufficient courage and strength to
face this difficult time.
