Dear parishioners,

I greet you all in the name of Our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ who

resurrected from dead. Let us give thanks to God in the blessed month of

April, which celebrates and proclaims the resurrection of Jesus Christ from

the dead. I thank you all for your wholehearted cooperation during the last

50 days of Lent and Holy Week services. I appreciate the Edavaka mission

office bearers ,especially secretary Mr. K.G. Varghese, the families who

hosted prayer meetings and those who led the sermons. The Executive

Committee for the new year is activated, and requests everyone's sincere

cooperation in all activities and services of the Parish. Let me appreciate the

ministry of Rev. Jess M George Achen for The last 5 Years. I pray that May

Lord help him continue to experience His presence in the ministry wherev-

er Achen go. Let me welcome Rev. Jason Varghese the new students chap-

lain, may his ministry be a great blessing to our youths.

On the first Sunday we meditate on "Jesus Christ is Lord and God".

Although Thomas doubted, he was able to testify the world that Jesus

Christ is Lord and God. The coming days we meditate on the appearances

of Jesus Christ, all the appearances of Jesus Christ was aimed to restore the

disciples who was despair. In His appearance to the disciples, Jesus teaches

his disciples by reaffirming what their commission is. Third week we medi-

tate upon Jesus Christ who encourage. Jesus enabled disciples who went to

Emmaus to testify His resurrection. 4th Sunday we meditating on Mar-

riage : call and commission. In Christian faith and belief marriage is not a

contract, marriage is a covenant relationship between God and husband

and wife. God calls men and commission family life. The call to family life

is to fulfill God's will on earth. It should have trust in God, loyalty to each

other and divine justice in life.

Let me appreciate your participation in all the needs of the parish

and I would like to remind you to confirm your generous participation in

GSF, Subscription and Diocesan Day Collection. All organizations are re-

minded to cooperate in preparing annual plans as

soon as possible, and all organizations and area pray-

er groups are reminded to schedule individual meet-

ings during the spring and summer seasons. I pray

and wish that the coming days will be a blessing to

all of us. God bless us all.

Youth Chaplain’s Message

“I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every

one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first

day until now." Philippians 1:3-5

Dearly beloved in Christ,

I praise the Lord for the last five years for the blessed opportunity I had to

serve as the Youth Chaplain of this parish. I am grateful for the opportuni-

ties given to grow in fellowship with our youths and to minister to our grow-

ing generation of the Mar Thoma community in this region. These past five

years have been very special for Justeena Kochamma and me. We made

great relationships with people young and old and numerous memories that

we will cherish throughout our lives. It is also sad in a way that throughout

these years we have lost great people who passed away in five years and be-

came very close to us, and to bid farewell to them was a painful experience

for us. Although five years as your youth chaplain Achen has come to an

end now, it reminds us that this ministry does not belong to us but rather it

belongs to God. We pray that whatever we were able to do in the last five

years, especially throughout the pandemic and recovering from it, we were

able to do it diligently. We have seen our youths grow up so much. It is a

great blessing to witness many of our youths think about getting into college

finishing college and heading towards the next step in life. We have seen

many overcoming various life situations and witness the hand of God work-

ing unconditionally in them.

I look forward to seeing our youths in our time remaining in the campus

visits as well as our meetings, Bible Studies and personal visits. Please pray

for the Chaplain’s ministry in New York. I am ever grateful to minister to

you alongside the various vicars of our parishes from 2019 till now.

Our new assignment is God willing, to take charge of Redeemer Mar Tho-

ma Church and Zion Mar Thoma Congrega-

tion. Along with that, we will also be in the youth

ministry of St. Peter’s Mar Thoma

Church. Please do keep Kochamma and me as

well as our ministry in your prayers. Our love

and prayers are with your incoming Youth Chap-

lain Rev. Jason Varghese. May the grace of God

continue to be with all of you. Our love and pray-

ers always. Remember: God is Good, all the

time, and all the time, God is Good!
